Important Information
- Our workshops are run by one of The Sewstainable Barn’s friendly staff members or experienced volunteers.
- Unless a workshop is specifically designed for young children, we recommend participants are aged 8 and above.
- A qualified first aider is always present during workshops.
- All under‑16s must be accompanied by an adult. The adult does not need to book a place but should stay in the workshop throughout the session to support the young person.
- For under‑16s to attend independently, they must have attended three previous sessions and be known to the volunteer leading the workshop, ensuring they feel confident and supported.
- We are working towards all our volunteers being DBS checked. In the meantime, at least one person running the community sewing space will always be DBS checked.
- The Sewstainable Barn has private toilet facilities available for anyone attending the Barn.
- Tea, coffee, squash, water, and biscuits are available at the Barn. Anyone attending our community sewing sessions is welcome to bring their own food, and you are welcome to use our fridge to keep your food cool.
- Our community sewing sessions are run by volunteers. We kindly ask all participants to help tidy up at the end of each session, following the guidance of the volunteer who led the workshop.
- You are welcome to bring your own sewing tools and equipment. The Barn is well stocked with sewing machines, tools, and supplies, but personal items are welcome. Please note you are responsible for anything you bring, as our volunteers cannot be held liable if items are lost or damaged.
- We ask for a suggested contribution towards our community sewing sessions. If you would like to increase your contribution because you love what we do, please use the tip function at checkout. Thank you so much for your support.
