We have paused taking donations as we get up to date processing the donations that have recently been given
📦 Donations Welcome
We gratefully accept donations of unwanted fabric and sewing supplies whenever we’re open. This includes sewing machines and overlockers.
Please go through all the donations before you bring them in to make sure there are no unfinished sewing projects, pins in fabric, rubbish or excess plastic bags. Thank you
Please bring your donations into The Sewstainable Barn during opening hours:
Tuesday–Friday, 10:30am–2:00pm.Â
What We Accept
- Fabric
- Sewing threads including embroidery threads
- Buttons
- Ribbon
- Trimmings
- Beads
- Wool
- Fabric cutting boards
- Lace or vintage laceÂ
- Wedding dresses and veilsÂ
- Sewing tools (needles, pins, scissors in good condition)
- Sewing extras e.g. bias binding, Velcro
- Sewing machines and overlockersÂ
- Craft supplies
- Scissors and other sewing tools
- Un used paper sewing patterns
- Un used haberdashery items
- Wadding and stuffing
Wish List - For Spring 2026 - We really need the following items:
- Red, yellow, orange, purple fabrics
- Plastic A4 document folders
- Old books on nature, birds, butterflies, nursery rhymes
- Tartan fabricsÂ
- Upholstery fabricsÂ
- Beads
- Vintage lace
What We Kindly Ask You NOT to Donate
These items just don’t sell and create unnecessary waste:
- Magazines
- Tablecloths and napkins
- Bed sheets
- Curtains
- Rusty needles
- Blunt scissors
- Clothes
Important Note
We reserve the right to pause donations when our shelves are full and we need to concentrate on other areas of our social enterprise.
Book a Collection
If you have a large amount to donate, for example the contents of a sewing room, and would like to arrange a collection, please email fritha@secretprojects.org We can collect within a 20 mile radius to The Sewstainable Barn.
Amazon Wish ListÂ
Buying new is something we avoid at all costs but sometimes we need to buy certain things that never get donated e.g. glue sticks, brown paper tape. If you would like to support us by purchasing the things that we need please view our Amazon Wish list here
